OnePlus announces OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro

OnePlus has finally unveiled the flagship duo of this year OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in New York this noon. Along with these two smartphones OnePlus also announced the next version of its lasts year wireless earphone dubbed as Bullet Wireless 2.

Talking about these two phones, the OnePlus 7 is kind of them “killer” flagship that OnePlus is known for whereas the OnePlus Pro is meant to be a true flagship with a higher price tag and is here to compete with Google’s Pixel 3 series, Samsung’s S10 and S10 Plus and we think Apple’s iPhone XR is also a competition for it if we consider the price of XR.

So first, let’s know about the former flagship of both the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 7 is identical to the last year’s OnePlus 6T. Basically, it’s confusing as it’s not clear whether this phone wants to be OnePlus 6T or OnePlus 7 Pro. However, some of the new upgrades which we get are a  new camera module of 48MP and a depth sensor and the other change is new in display fingerprint sensor module which is faster than the one found on OnePlus 6T and you know what you also get Wrap Charger with the new “killer” flagship and if it’s an upgrade over last year then how can we miss a new processor which is Snapdragon’s 855 along with two storage options of 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 3.0 storage and 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

The bad news here is that the US won’t be getting the OnePlus 7 anytime soon while in Europe it is priced at £500 for the 6/128GB variant and 8/256GB variant will be retailing for  £550.

Now coming OnePlus 7 Pro it’s the real flagship from OnePlus which they redesigned from the scratch with some of the major improvements ever seen in any OnePlus smartphone. OnePlus just upgraded everything from display to it’s audio.

OnePlus 7 Pro boasts a new display which is a 6.67 inch Fluid AMOLED with QHD resolution and 90Hz refresh rate which can render high-quality HDR10+ colors. There is no notch for a selfie camera and it just covers the whole front of the device. Instead of going with a camera cutout OnePlus opted for a pop-up selfie camera been tested more than 300,000 times that means its not going to get damaged that easily.

Now, speaking about the camera there is three of them where the main camera is Sony’s IMX586 sensor with a 48MP resolution with a bright f/1.6 aperture, OIS and EIS along with an 8MP telephoto camera that offers 3x zoom and a 16MP ultra-wide angle camera. The trio is accompanied by the laser autofocus and a flash at the back.

While in front, you get a 16MP pop-up camera which is way too fast that you won’t even find out that it’s coming up and going back.

The OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage (maximum) while the base variant gets 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.  Here we’re talking about UFS 3.0 storage which is accounted for the improved performance. In fact, the OnePlus 7 series is the first smartphone series to feature UFS 3.0.

First time in history, OnePlus phone gets a massive 4000mAH battery to back all of this up with the new Warp Charge 30 which has ability to control the temperature so that the phone won’t heat up while playing games and charging it simultaneously.

Here, we get three colors out of which two of them are new to OnePlus family and these colors are Nebula Blue, Mirror Gray, and Almond.

The OnePlus 7 Pro starts from $670 for 6GB/128GB variant and goes up to $750 for its 12GB/256GB variant in Nebula Blue color and it will be available from T-Mobile in the US starting on May 17.

Alongside these two phones, OnePlus also revealed it’s new wireless headset dubbed as Bullets Wireless 2 headphones which adds aptX HD support it. Also, They feature Warp Charge of their own, which just doubles the charging speed and OnePlus claims that you can get 10 hours of playback from 10 mins of charge. These pair of headsets are priced at $100 and there is no clarity on the availability.
