Boeing 737 Max grounding hits the forcast sale of American Airlines https://techozen.com/boeing-737-max-grounding-hits-the-forcast-sale-of-american-airlines/ https://techozen.com/boeing-737-max-grounding-hits-the-forcast-sale-of-american-airlines/#respond Fri, 14 Jul 2023 11:19:53 +0000 https://techozen.com/?p=10236 American Airlines had to cut down its sales forecast after being forced to drop hundreds of flights involving the grounded Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.

However, I can provide you with some general information about the Boeing 737 Max grounding and its potential impact on airlines. The Boeing 737 Max aircraft was grounded worldwide in March 2019 following two fatal accidents involving the model. The grounding was implemented to ensure passenger safety while investigations and necessary modifications were conducted.

During the grounding period, airlines that had ordered or were operating the Boeing 737 Max, including American Airlines, had to adjust their operations and find alternative solutions. This involved canceling flights, rearranging schedules, and utilizing other aircraft in their fleet or leasing planes from different airlines to mitigate the impact on passengers.

The grounding of the Boeing 737 Max had financial implications for airlines, including potential disruptions to their operations and adjustments to their revenue forecasts. It’s likely that the grounding impacted American Airlines’ operations and had some effect on its sales forecast during that time. However, the extent of the impact would depend on various factors, including the duration of the grounding and the airline’s ability to minimize disruptions and manage customer expectations.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on the Boeing 737 Max grounding and its impact on American Airlines, I recommend referring to recent news articles or official statements from the airline.

Now the airline demands a key measure of total revenue to be even or grow by 1% during the first quarter, compared to previous forecasts of a 2% increase.
Well, the firm is the second largest operator of the Boeing 737 Max 8 in the US.
The jet is at the center of two fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia with a gap of five months.
American Airlines also said that it was unable to forecast how much the disruption would cost the company.
Since the Boeing 737 Max 8 was grounded in the US on 13 March, American Airlines has cut 1,200 flights and has extended cancellations through its second quarter to 30 June, which will affect about 90 flights a day.
However, the plane is grounded as investigations continue into the Ethiopian Airlines crash last month which killed all 157 people on board.
It struck an earlier disaster in October when a 737 Max 8 flown by Indonesian airline Lion Air crashed, claiming the lives of 189 people.

American Airlines

The financial costs of this disruption in future periods cannot be forecasted at this time. It will depend upon a number of factors, including the period of time the aircraft is unavailable and the circumstances of any reintroduction of the aircraft to service.
With the incident, American Airlines’ share price plunged by 2.8% to $32.94 in early trading.
Meanwhile, Boeing is working on a fix to the anti-stall system, known as MCAS, in 737 Max 8 planes which preliminary reports suggest caused both the Lion Air and the Ethiopian Airlines flights to repeatedly nosedive.
Also, American Airlines operates 24 of the 737 Max 8 planes and has an additional 76 jets on order from Boeing.
And Southwest Airlines is Boeing’s largest customer for the 737 Max 8. Which already operates 34 of the jets out of a total order of 250 planes.
Currently, Boeing has cut production of the 737 airliners which will drop from 52 planes a month to 42 from mid-April.

Elizabeth Warren insists to wave off student’s loan https://techozen.com/elizabeth-warren-insists-to-wave-off-students-loan/ https://techozen.com/elizabeth-warren-insists-to-wave-off-students-loan/#respond Mon, 29 Apr 2019 21:48:32 +0000 https://techozen.com/?p=1001 According to an estimation Americans owe more than $1.5 trillion in students loans, while an average American borrowing more than $ 38,000 and approximately 85% of the debt is owed to the central government.

Last Monday Senator Elizabeth Warren who is running for president presented her idea of making education cheap and affordable and wave off about half of the debts.

Her plan will erase students debts for those with lower incomes and those who couldn’t manage to graduate with a degree.

Massachusetts Democrat Ms. Warren who is running for president had a many ex-students supporting. This plan would bring relief from loan to more than 42 million Americans and would be $640 billion in the outstanding loan amount.

Justin and Samantha Morgan a couple said that this plan would be life-changing for them. Justin works as a lab manager and Samantha works for a non-profit organization. According to them, they have a took a student loan of $70000 and are making payment based on the income repayment plan.

Recommended News:

“Your monthly payment is so low that you’re not paying your loans because interest accrues so fast,” Ms. Morgan, 30, said. “My loan has actually gotten bigger.”

Their loans would be released if they make their payments for the next 20 years. Samantha and Justin have a 3-year-old son and they also said that they are still living on rent and opposing another child because of loan burden.

The Warren campaign is keenly focused on providing aid to those who actually need it the most. A person with household income under $100k will get $50k in students loan but households with incomes up to $250k will get no subsidies.

While according to Sandy Baum, an expert on college affordability at the Urban Institute, waving of $50k in debt is too much and releasing $10k in loans would terminate debt for a third of borrowers.

“That is virtual all the borrowers who are low-income, who don’t have a bachelor’s degree, who dropped out of college, who are struggling most,” as opposed to those who are in a better position to pay off their loans, Ms. Baum said. The average federal student loan debt is $32,000, according to federal data.

Ms. Warren’s supporters said that people with jobs that need a high level of education but are not high paying, for example, a teachers job would be benefitted from this plan.

A research conducted by an Urban Institute analysis affirmed that this campaign of Ms. Warren will be beneficial for black students as they borrow more for colleges as compared to the other racial and ethnic communities. Warren Campaign officials stated that this campaign gives a shred of evidence that black students have lower family assets to carry on.

The plan has received positive feedback from a lot of students at New York University some of them pointed out the benefits of the campaign also.

Meanwhile, Matthew Chingos, director of Center on Education Data and Policy at the Urban Institute proposed that the plan was not progressive enough as one-time clearance of debt would not solve the root crisis of American student’s debt crisis.

Intel may release 10nm desktop cores only in 2022 https://techozen.com/intel-may-release-10nm-desktop-cores-only-in-2022/ https://techozen.com/intel-may-release-10nm-desktop-cores-only-in-2022/#respond Fri, 26 Apr 2019 13:41:57 +0000 https://techozen.com/?p=834 Desktops may have to wait till 2020 but laptops start moving to the shrunken process node

Despite displaying the Sunny Cove next-generation 10nm architecture at the business end of 2018 Intel has struggled in bringing this vision to fruition. Leaked slides that showed the roadmap of the Intel processor journey upon being analyzed show that it will be at least 2 to three more years before the iconic 10nm core processors can enter the market and leave a mark. With the Coffee Lake S refreshes that are set to take place from now until the first quarter of 2021, it looks like Intel will stick to refining its current 14nm process for the next few generations for its desktops at least.

The credibility of the slides are questionable but they also mention the release of desktop chips called Rocket Lake S that are set to release in the second quarter of 2021 that will be based on the 14nm node. However, CPU cores with up to 10 cores on a chip, this will come as a delight to those looking forward to more powerful PC’s. 10nm desktop cores are most likely to show up in the market in 2022, the same time when Intel is expected to move its Ocean Cove architecture that’s centered around next-gen processors with greater performance.

Ocean Cove will succeed 2021’s Golden Cove Core architecture which itself follows a Willow Cove and will follow on from the Sunny Cove architecture. As such it looks as though the Ice Lake mobile chips based off the Sunny Cove architecture will be the first 10nm chips. Ice Lake is expected to take the form of the low-powered U-series and Y-series laptop CPUs at some point this year. They will be based on the 10nm processors and are expected to come in two and four-core variants.
