Smartphone industry saw a huge decline in sales mostly during the second half of 2018 manufacturers struggled to cope up to their first-half records. The reason was a global economic slowdown, due to which people preferred not to buy a spend their hard earned money and companies also tried to adjust as per the situation. Manufacturers came up with low-cost devices to create interest in which some fared well but some failed miserably.

Recently, counterpoint released a list of bestselling smartphones of 2018 and it gave a look at which smartphones generated the most traction and ended up in public hands.

Before giving you a glimpse here’s a short summary for you. That 6 out of 10 top smartphones are of Apple which is kind of shocking as we all know how costly these smartphones are and statistically Apple had a terrible first half.

So starting up with the list, Apple’s iPhone X tops the list followed by another Apple device you may know as iPhone 8, Apple’s 2016 flagship. Going on to the 3rd place we get the iPhone 8 big brother basically it’s huge variant called iPhone 8 Plus and on the 4th position, we have Apple’s 2015 flagship smartphone iPhone 7. So, the Apple streak ends here and now we continue to the fifth position.

On 5th we have Xiaomi’s ultra-budget smartphone Redmi 5A with basic specifications and a solid low cost it attracted a huge amount of attention.

Now, Samsung instead of great sales record and huge profits came 6th place with their 2018’s flagship the S9 and then continued by two another Apple devices, the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS at 7th and 8th position respectively.

Whereas Samsung S9 and it’s budget smartphone J6 got 9th and 10th position respectively.

According to Counterpoint, developing countries with a huge amount of millennials helped these companies to boost their smartphone sales.

Counterpoint also released another China specific report where Oppo dominated the list and Apple just got two spots in the list where iPhone X is on the second spot.

He gave a hint in the tweet saying, Smooth is more challenging than being rapid – A true test of hardware and software, which gives us a shred of strong evidence that One plus 7 will be faster and smoother in terms of software with rigid hardware.

The new One plus device will be 5G supported and will be called One plus 7 Pro with an upgrade in the display. This gives us a hint that the price of the phone can be somewhere close to Samsung S10, Huawei P30 though one plus has not revealed the price yet and but the upgrade that one plus is going to provide in its upcoming flagship will surely increase the price of the phone.

Lau said that the company he’s spending three times as much on display than the previous models and expecting it to be more fast and smooth to stand above their competitors. A 90hz screen that’s especially for gaming smartphones which mean 90 frames per second assuring a better animation quality.

“The first time I saw it myself, I was stunned,” Lau says.

While the company stays quiet about what’s under the hood. But with 3 times better display over its predecessor, there is a lot of expectation on the upcoming flagship by One plus. The recent leak about its features says Snapdragon 855 processor, as well as triple camera, are set up. Moreover, the three cameras will be 48 MP main lens, 8Mp telephoto lens, and 16 MP ultra-wide lens.

Lau also said that One plus 7 will be 5G supported but the company won’t boast around it as they are aware of the 5G availability currently and in the near future.

Note series lovers will be further inquisitive to know about the specifications and new features of the upcoming successor of Samsung Note 9.

The Note series is one of Samsung’s premium device with a big screen and a stylus to interact with the screen more flexibility. As per the critics and user opinion, note series is one of the best series.

The new race of smartphone companies for implementing 5G assures that Note 10 will be a 5G ready device. While the screen size is rumored to be 6.66 inches, it is fair as the note series arrives with a large display screen. The device might be bodily similar to Note 9 but still, have a larger display as the bezels might get thinner and the front-facing camera will also undergoing a change.

Meanwhile, the stylus could get a camera of its own, Note 10 is awaited to reach the market with 4 rear cameras though it is not yet confirmed and still in our list of talks about the anticipated device.
