Apple is expected to introduce us to the successor of iOS 12 during its one of the biggest event next month but the new announcement is going to come with bad news as per few sources Apple could drop iOS 13 support for its old devices which means a bunch of iPhone’s are not going to get the new software upgrade.

According to a few sources, Apple is going to drop iPhone 6 series, iPhone SE and older phones from the update cycle along with this the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, and the iPad mini 4. The decision to exclude iPhone SE and iPhone 6 series is much more shocking than removing the old iPad’s because these two iPhone series are still one of the best selling iPhone’s in developing countries. The major reason decision for this decision could be to boost the sales of the newer range of iPhone’s.

If this report is true then lots of users will be left with no choice but to stick with iOS 12 or to upgrade to other devices.

We are still unclear why Apple excluded iPhone SE which is just 3 years old but what we can understand is that there can be any hardware compatibility issue because iPhone SE runs on A9 which is used in iPhone 6S range while the 6S is maybe receiving the update.

Slack has joined the long list of tech companies in publicly listing their shares this year after the workplace messaging start-up released an offering prospectus on Friday. Slack has collected $400.6 million in revenue during the first fiscal year that ended on January 31, all this was disclosed for the first time as it shared its financial results widely for the first time. This figure when calculated is seen to be double what had been generated from the previous fiscal year. Some good news is in store however as its loss this fiscal year has fallen to $140.7 million which is lesser than the data from the previous year that shows that they lost $180.9 million.

The company was also up by almost 50% when it came to paying customers in comparison to the previous year as they ended with 88,000 paying customers. Around 40% of the revenue that the company generated was from the 575 customers who paid more than $100,000 for their subscriptions. Post the settlement with Qualcomm last week a lot of Lawsuits against Apple were dropped, which meant the legal team had a lot less to worry about. However, new lawsuits have found their way to Apple yet again with another billion dollar lawsuit being filed against it.

According to reports from Bloomberg and New York Post have both reported the case of 18-year-old Ousmane Bah suing the tech giant for a billion dollars. His lawsuit is that he was falsely arrested by the NYPD on the 29th of November last year because of the facial recognition he has accused Apple of using in its Apple stores. The NYPD arrested Bah after accusing him to be the one responsible for the thefts in the Boston, New Jersey, Delaware and Manhattan branches of the Apple store. His lawsuit accuses Apple of having found a stolen ID with his name and address but one that did not possess his picture.

He claims that Apple programmed this into the Stores facial recognition system to connect the real thief’s face with the data from his ID. He claims that he was arrested based on this mistaken identity.

What does come as a surprise is that the charges against Bah have been dropped except in New Jersey, this is due to lack of evidence and also the fact that he had an alibi on the night of the break-in. An excerpt from Bah’s lawsuit reads  “(Apple’s) use of facial recognition software in its stores to track individuals suspected of theft is the type of Orwellian surveillance that consumers fear, particularly as it can be assumed that the majority of consumers are not aware that their faces are secretly being analyzed.” This is a charge of elephantine proportion to be leveled at a tech giant like Apple but the reply from the company is nothing more than a statement denying the use of face recognition in their retail outlets.

He gave a hint in the tweet saying, Smooth is more challenging than being rapid – A true test of hardware and software, which gives us a shred of strong evidence that One plus 7 will be faster and smoother in terms of software with rigid hardware.

The new One plus device will be 5G supported and will be called One plus 7 Pro with an upgrade in the display. This gives us a hint that the price of the phone can be somewhere close to Samsung S10, Huawei P30 though one plus has not revealed the price yet and but the upgrade that one plus is going to provide in its upcoming flagship will surely increase the price of the phone.

Lau said that the company he’s spending three times as much on display than the previous models and expecting it to be more fast and smooth to stand above their competitors. A 90hz screen that’s especially for gaming smartphones which mean 90 frames per second assuring a better animation quality.

While the company stays quiet about what’s under the hood. But with 3 times better display over its predecessor, there is a lot of expectation on the upcoming flagship by One plus. The recent leak about its features says Snapdragon 855 processor, as well as triple camera, are set up. Moreover, the three cameras will be 48 MP main lens, 8Mp telephoto lens, and 16 MP ultra-wide lens.

Lau also said that One plus 7 will be 5G supported but the company won’t boast around it as they are aware of the 5G availability currently and in the near future.

Microsoft has not come clear on how many users of Outlook.com have been affected by the compromised credentials. While regretting the inconvenience caused as a result of this breach of security, the software giant has suggested the affected users reset their passwords as a precautionary measure to avoid the possibility of a hacking attempt on their account.

The compromised credentials have already been disabled to avoid the possibility of any further attacks. Microsoft has also provided information about its Data Protection Officer in the email notification sent. If you think you have been one of the hacking victims, you may get in touch with the officer to protect your email accounts.

If you are a regular user of Microsoft’s webmail service, it may be a good idea to reset your password even when you have not received the email notification from Microsoft.

Microsoft Edge – based on Chromium released

Microsoft released the first official version of the new Chromium-based Edge browser on April 9, 2019. Those of you who have been facing issues with the Google Chrome browser on your Windows 10, but could not move beyond because you just loved the interface – come out of your blues!

You can download the developer builds and canary versions from the official links here. The difference between the two versions lies in the frequency of the updates – the canary update comes with daily updates, while the developer updates will provide you access to weekly updates. The browser will soon be entering the beta stages and ultimately it will reach the stable build quite soon.

Want to enable Dark Mode? Here is how?

Well, the browser is still in the development stage and the dark mode has not yet been introduced in the official version of Chromium-based edge browser. Microsoft has assured that the support will arrive soon. However, you can get it with a few simple tweaks.
Like you have used those experimental flags on Chrome, these are available on Edge as well. The only difference is you use edge:// instead of chrome://.

• Type in edge://flags in the address bar
• Type in Microsoft Edge Theme in the search field

• Once you find the theme displayed on your browser, use the option to Enabled from Default

That does it. You will need to relaunch your browser. Once that done, your Edge browser will have a dark mode enabled.
If it does not change, make sure that your Windows default configuration is set to Dark instead of Light.

What does this new development mean?

With Microsoft abandoning its own browser engine in favor of an open source engine which is in mostly in control of Google, we now have only two major browser engines – Chromium and Gecko. As things stand as of now, there isn’t much of a difference between Chrome and Edge with Chromium. Both look practically the same and maybe you would want to use Edge as your default browser. In any case, we expect it to change with future builds.
